Bore Cleaning Process

At Allstate Drilling, we use a proven chemical and mechanical process to thoroughly clean out water bores affected by mineral scaling, iron bacteria, silt build-up, and reduced water flow.

Our method is effective, safe, and suitable for restoring both domestic and high-capacity production bores. The process begins by carefully applying Alba Plus, a high-performance bore cleaning chemical, directly into the borehole. This specialised solution is designed to break down and dissolve mineral deposits such as calcium, iron, and manganese, while also targeting iron bacteria and organic matter that can form biofilms inside the casing and screen.

 

Once applied, the chemical is circulated or allowed to soak for a set period, giving it time to penetrate and react with the accumulated debris and scale. After the chemical treatment has had time to take effect, we move to the flushing phase.

 

Using a high-powered air compressor, we perform a full air-lift and blow-out of the bore. This step forces compressed air down the hole to agitate the contents and drive loosened scale, sediment, biological matter, and chemical residue up and out of the bore casing. In many cases, we repeat this step multiple times to ensure all foreign material is removed and the bore is fully cleared.

This cleaning process helps restore water flow, reduce pump strain, and extend the working life of the bore infrastructure. It is especially effective in older bores that are experiencing decreased output, or in new installations that have encountered early blockage from iron bacteria or sediment.
